Kathy Kirk – Treasurer
I am a Native Texan born in College Station! I’ve lived around the Dallas area most of my life. I moved to Rowlett in 2010. I am an adventurous computer geek. I worked for Texas Instruments and Harley-Davidson (I had an FXDL for 15 years). I am a certified rescue Scuba Diver, I’ve been skydiving and flew over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter.
When I moved to Rowlett, I attended and graduated from the very 1st City Academy. I enjoyed that so much that I went on to graduate from the Citizen’s Police Academy and Citizen’s Fire Academy. A Tri-Academy Honor for completing them all in one year.
Seeing the City of Rowlett from the angles of the Academies, I decided I wanted to make a difference. I joined Keep Rowlett Beautiful. I love to plant flowers and beautify the city. My pet peeves are litter and especially litter on our lakeshore. What a unique city Rowlett is, but we get a lot of ‘through traffic’ and litter appears everywhere. It is difficult to completely stop it but by keeping it picked up, and it takes all of us, we can see trends of more litter here than there and do something about it. If every person and business owner would walk out to the front of their place and pick up the litter can you imagine how clean our city would be?
I enjoy serving with the Board of Keep Rowlett Beautiful – we have a great group and would love to talk to you if you are interested in joining!
